I love giving made in Washington gifts to friends and family who live out of town. Some people, like my mom, insist that I bring certain items like coffee and chocolate, while others I surprise with a gift as a thanks for hosting me.
Buying locally-made gifts when I travel is something I love to do too, so if you’re visiting Washington, getting a souvenir is a simple gesture anyone would appreciate. In addition, it’s a way to support the local economy and our thriving maker community.
So if you want to give someone a taste of the Evergreen State, here are my recommendations for the best gifts made in Washington. All of them ship, too, so you can bring a piece of Washington home without the added luggage bulk.

1. Smoked salmon – $40
Salmon is pretty much synonymous with Washington, so it’s one of the best made in Washington gifts you can give!
Indigenous-owned Northwest Native Gifts from Vashon, Washington makes smoked salmon using wild-caught, sustainable fish from Alaska. They also come in adorable 2-pack jars that make an excellent gift for the salmon lover in your life.
2. Coffee – $21+
Noire Pack from Seattle, Washington curates Black-owned coffee from mostly Washington state. You can also buy bags individually or get 3-pack sample boxes from some of the best Seattle area coffee roasters.
3. Artisanal chocolate – $11+
Fran’s Chocolates’ Sea Salt Caramels are one of the best Seattle chocolates you can get. This is one of the items my mom always insists I bring back home and I get why. The caramel is so soft and chewy without sticking to your teeth.
Have a chocolate purist in your life? Get them some Spinnaker Chocolate. This local Seattle chocolatier makes some of the best chocolate I’ve ever had. It’s sweet like fruit without any mix-ins.
4. Handmade jewelry – $20+
There are so many awesome jewelry makers in Seattle and Washington state as a whole, so it can be hard to choose just one.
Splendor and Stone from Tacoma, Washington is a fun option. They make whimsical boho jewelry that’s also affordable. I own these leopard print asymmetric hoops and always get so many compliments on them!

5. Embroideries – $40+
Loom and Gloom in Tacoma, Washington creates beautiful embroideries with fun designs and snarky sayings. In fact, I love this one with a Lizzo lyric. If your loved one loves Harry Potter, they also have a few options for them too!
Lark Rising Embroidery in Seattle, Washington is a great option if your loved one likes to craft. They sell gorgeous embroidery patterns starting at $15.
6. Handblown glassware – $32+
Decicio Glass from Seattle, Washington makes beautiful barware for the cocktail drinker in your life. You’ll also find gorgeous glasses and decanters that come clear or in gray and colorful pastel hues. The owner sold his studio and plans to move on to new ventures, so what you see in his Etsy shop are his last pieces!
7. Jam – $16+
Girl Meets Dirt is one of the most popular small jam makers in Washington. They got started on tiny Orcas Island, one of the best islands near Seattle, and then became a cult classic thanks to their unique flavor combinations.
For example, try their Island Plum Spoon Preserves or Quince Cutting Preserves. If your loved one likes a good cocktail, they even make Peach Tree Bitters.
If you make your way to any of the best Seattle farmers markets, you’ll also find a ton of handmade jam. Keep an eye out for marionberry and huckleberry, as these are two berries that are prolific in the Pacific Northwest.
8. Wine – $39+
Washington is the second largest producer of wine in the US, so choosing just one to gift feels impossible. However if I had to pick just a few, I’d gift:
- Long Shadows Saggi ($70) – This sangiovese-dominant blend has more heft and a creamy texture thanks to the addition of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. I’ve tried expensive wines, but typically never buy bottles above $45. However, when I tasted this one at their tasting room in Woodinville, I bought it immediately.
- Woodward Canyon Artist Series Cab Sauv ($70) – Ask any local for a list of the best Pacific Northwest wineries and I bet you Woodward Canyon will be on it. They make award-winning wines out of their Walla Walla winery that is sure to impress any wine lover in your life.
- Gramercy Cellars Lower East Cabernet Sauvignon ($34) – Gramercy Cellars is one of my favorite Walla Walla wineries. They too are award winning, but offer wines at more affordable price points. GSM (which stands for grenache, syrah, mourvedre) is a popular, crowd-pleasing blend that is one of the best made in Washington gifts for wine-o’s whose palate you aren’t super familiar with.

9. PNW art – $5+
Marysa Joy’s Creations is an Indigenous artist out of Tulalip, Washington. She’s part of the Tulalip Tribe and is also Quileute, which inspires her modern and colorful art prints, clothing, and accessories. I especially like her digital art prints because you can print them to the exact size that you want!

10. Cheese – $20+
Cougar Gold from WSU Creamery in Pullman, Washington has a cult following. It’s a rich and firm white cheddar that’s been aged for a year and also gets better the longer it sits. WSU Creamery is a self-funded entity of Washington State University, so a portion of each sale provides education support for WSU food science students.
Beecher’s Flagship Reserve Cheese is another quintessential Seattle food everyone should try. It’s aged and results in a creamy, slightly nutty cheddar cheese that’s super addictive.
Cascadia Creamery Sawtooth Cheese is a great option for those that prefer more mild, semi-soft cheeses. Moreover, they use milk from a fourth generation dairy farm to create a fudgy, smooth cheese with complex peaty flavor and notes of freshly pickled walnuts and honeycomb.
11. Ceramics – $26+
There are so many amazing ceramicists in Washington. Anytime I go to the Seattle Christmas markets, I can’t help buy myself at least one piece for my collection.
DPottery in Graham, Washington makes beautiful, minimalist ceramics for the kitchen and home. In fact, I bought their spoon rest for my brother-in-law one year as a Christmas gift, and I’m lusting over their ring dishes that come in black or white!

Boe Jack Designs in Seattle, Washington makes gorgeous bags to match any person’s style. You’ll find both canvas clutches in whimsical patterns and minimalist vegan leather purses and fanny packs. I’ve especially been eyeing this convertible leather waist bag!

13. Mushrooms – $38+
Sno-Valley Mushrooms in Duvall, Washington sells mushroom grow kits for the spore-loving foodie in your life. They’re super easy and low maintenance, providing ongoing access to Washington mushrooms.
14. Huckleberry treats – $15-51
Huckleberries are a tart, blueberry-like fruit found in the Pacific Northwest. You can’t eat them raw, which means they end up in some excellent foodie products that make great gifts.
Papa Ray’s Market in Spokane, Washington makes huckleberry baked good mixes and sweets. You’ll find huckleberry pancakes, brownies, and scones in addition to huckleberry taffy and honey.
15. Body and skincare – $20+
Herbivore Botanicals in Seattle, Washington makes natural, cruelty-free skincare products. I have their coconut body polish and am obsessed, am my sister loves the orchid face serum I bought her for Christmas. They have a cult following, so the skincare lover in your life will be impressed.
