Camano Island Restaurants to Seek Out

crab roll and tater tots from one of the best restaurants on Camano Islands

I can’t stop thinking about all the scrumptious Camano Island restaurants. When I first visited this quiet island about an hour north of Seattle, I never expected that it’d have such a good food scene. Yet everywhere I went, I was surprised with awesome flavors.

If you’re planning a trip to Camano, make sure to use this list of the best Camano Island restaurants as your guide. Get those stretch pants ready!

Best Camano Island Restaurants

Save this to Pinterest for later because I’ll update this guide to restaurants on Camano Island as I discover more.

Cristy’s Lumpia

website | 1244 N Moore Rd | best for: authentic Filipinx food

Chef Cristy McFall is making some of the best Filipinx food I’ve had. She opened a family-operated catering business on Camano, but when the pandemic hit her family upped the availability of their excellent food for takeout.

The must-get orders here are lumpia and chicken adobo. The lumpia is crispy and the filling flavorful. The chicken adobo is unlike others I’ve had in that it’s in a lighter white sauce and a touch acidic and spicy from peppers. Others I’ve had were in more of a brown sauce, so I liked how this one was brighter than others I’ve had.

They’re located inside a warehouse complex, so it can be a bit hard to miss. But the flip side is this means no tourists find their way here. Plus, Ale Spike Brewery is a few warehouses away so visiting Cristy’s is a two for one!

Tapped Camano

website | 848 N Sunrise Blvd | best for: casual seafood and beer

Tapped is a brew pub located in the Camano Commons courtyard. It has a heated outdoor patio and good vibes, not to mention a great menu.

You’ll find a good selection of local Pacific Northwest beers and elevated pub food. The standouts here are anything with seafood. I particularly like the crab roll. It’s like a lobster roll with the buttered, toasted bread but crossed with a crab cake.

The Baked Cafe

website | 848 Sunrise Blvd | best for: burgers

This spot is tucked inside the Camano Commons Marketplace. It has your typical drive-in fare, particularly burgers. Their double cheeseburger is the epitome of a classic American burger, and with the extra crispy tater tots on the side, it’s the perfect lunch that rivals some of the best burgers in Seattle.

The Sub Joint

website | 848 N Sunrise Blvd | best for: sandwiches

This sandwich shop is in Camano Commons right next to the main entrance. It’s owned by The Baked Cafe and really highlights their fresh baked breads. The menu is slim, but the sub sandwiches are piled high and well executed. My favorite is the Italian sub. It has all the fixings like the Italian subs I ate growing up on the east coast, which is hard to find out here!

Camano Commons Marketplace Bakery

website | 848 Sunrise Blvd | best for: croissants

This bakery inside the Camano Commons Marketplace is making some excellent baked goods. My absolute favorite are the almond croissants. They’re stuffed with almond cream and are chewy. I’m not typically a croissant fan, but this one reminds me of the one from Bakery Nouveau in Seattle, one of the best West Seattle restaurants.

Shima Japanese Restaurant

website | 10007 270 St NW | best for: sushi

Shima is located on a historic cobblestone street in Stanwood. It has a young, hip staff creating creative sushi rolls with fish that would rival some of the best fish restaurants in Seattle. It’s only about a 10 minute drive from northern Camano Island, so it’s easy to quickly drive the bridge to pick it up for takeout.

The Cookie Milll

website | 9808 WA-532 | best for: cookies

Julie Sande opened The Cookie Mill more than 20 years ago and it’s still kickin’ on the main road you drive on to access Camano Island. Make sure to stop here for some large cookies on your way to the island. If it’s available, get the lemon doodle cookie. The soft creamy frosting and extra lemon-y flavor are irresistible.

More places to eat on Camano Island

Here are restaurants on my list to try still.

  • Cama Beach Cafe – Breakfast and lunch spot in Camas Beach State Park
  • Jimmy’s Pizza & Pasta – A place locals absolutely rave about
  • Primal BBQ – A well-rated barbecue join in Camano Commons
