Meet Your Guide
Hello, I’m Adria! I’ve always been a busy body who obsesses over finding “the best” of something. It could be a specific dish, unique hotels, or that little teeny tiny maker creating the most beautiful decor piece you didn’t know you needed.
My friends caught wind that I’d create these intense Google Maps when I traveled. They started asking me to share them. I shared links ad-hoc at first, but always looking to make things more efficient, I started a blog instead. I realized a blog would also be the best place to display my photography, a passion that was ignited in college thanks to a fashion photography program in London and being the photo editor of various school magazines.
I started The Emerald Palate in 2013, but it’s since bloomed into not only a place where I can share all my finds, but also a place for me to help you create magical experiences touring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
You can let me plan you a custom trip, come with me on a retreat to meet the small farmers, chefs, and artisans around Washington, or use one of my self-guided food tours to explore the area on your own as if I was there. I’m also available for hire to help your business with photography, content development, and marketing.
10 Fun Facts
Never one to take myself too seriously, here are fun facts about me:
1. I used to have a blog called The Emerald Closet.
It was pretty popular because to this day street style isn’t really documented here. However, my interest in fashion waned.
2. I may or may not have a Trello of restaurants to try.
Ok, I do.
3. I’m really good at Where’s Waldo.
I’m convinced this is a very important life skill.
4. I’m also insanely good at taking notes.
Seriously, I’ve been told it’s quite scary.
5. I was once charged at by a baby bear.
Honestly one of the scariest moments of my life.
6. I used to run shows for local bands.
I’ve always been entrepreneurial. I started my own business when I was 15 organizing shows for local bands. I used to be SO into music, but unfortunately I’m desensitized to music and barely listen anymore.
7. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
I’ve been skydiving, rappelling, and scuba diving. I also love roller coasters and going upside down.
8. My sister and I joke about opening a meatball food truck.
Or a driving school because Seattle drivers have PROBLEMS. Hey, knowing me, it might happen.
9. I played a lot of sports growing up.
Mainly softball, basketball, rugby, snowboarding, and gymnastics. I still snowboard and play softball, but otherwise it’s yoga or HIIT for me. And ping pong. Love ping pong.
10. I used to be a personal shopper.
I worked retail most of my teenage life. Retail stores fought over hiring me because I’m really good at personal shopping and folding clothes. I used to offer styling services through The Emerald Closet with my bro in law. We still laugh about that one time we threw out a client’s whole wardrobe while they watched. Yes, we’re the worst.
